A first-of-its-kind official gathering of scholars and experts who speak for the Tamil language, assembled by The Rise, CTACIS and TWI. It takes place on 6–7 January 2027 at the Pillayar Centre in Madurai, and everyone who loves the mother tongue can take part.
Why a language parliament
The decline of a people does not happen in a year or two — it happens gradually. First the language of that people is erased: its scripts are alienated, its grammar is declared unnecessary, and its ethical principles are removed from the life of its people.
Tamil, the note argues, is approaching the second stage of that decline. Removed from school education and from the language of instruction, today’s children can speak Tamil but cannot write or read it. Without an immediate rescue effort, within twenty-five years the language will be seriously weakened and, within fifty years, it will become a museum language like Latin and Sanskrit.

ஒரு இனத்தின் அழிவு ஓரிரு ஆண்டுகளில் நிகழ்வதல்ல. அது படிப்படியாக நிகழ்வது.

உண்மையில் தமிழ் மொழி தனது அழிவின் இரண்டாம் கட்டத்தை நெருங்கியுள்ளது. புரியும்படி சொன்னால் பள்ளிக் கல்வியிலிருந்தும் பயிற்றுவிப்பு மொழியாகவும் தமிழ் அகற்றப்பட்டிருப்பதால் இன்றைய தலைமுறை பிள்ளைகளால் தமிழ் பேச முடியும், ஆனால் எழுதவும் படிக்கவும் தெரியாது. இத்துடன் வேறு பல நெருக்கடிகளும் தமிழ் மொழியைச் சூழ்கின்றன. மீட்சிப் போர் உடனடியாகத் தொடங்கப் படாவிட்டால் அடுத்த 25 ஆண்டுகளில் அன்னைத் தமிழ் மிகவும் பலவீனப்படும், 50 ஆண்டுகளில் வழக்கொழிந்துவிட்ட லத்தின், சமஸ்கிருதம் போல் அருங்காட்சியக மொழியாக மாறும். எனவேதான் தமிழுக்காக அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக பேசும் பேரறிஞர் கூட்டத்தினை "தமிழ் மொழி பாராளுமன்றம்" என்ற பெயரில் அணி திரட்டுகின்றன The Rise, CTACIS, TWI உள்ளிட்ட அமைப்புகள். ஜனவரி 6, 7 நாட்களில் மாமதுரை பில்லர் மையத்தில் நடைபெறும். அன்னைத் தமிழை நேசிக்கும் அனைவரும் பங்கேற்கலாம். ஜனவரி 6 மதிய உணவு, இரவு உணவு, ஜனவரி 7 மதிய உணவு மற்றும் சிற்றுண்டிகள் வழங்கப்படும்.
